Niffer’s Place opened its second restaurant at Lake Martin near StillWaters in Spring of 2002. We are a family restaurant and a fun place for the whole gang. Our newly expanded patio and deck area allows us to offer a great meal indoors or out. We bring in awesome live local music on certain nights and you’ll want to make plans to join us for Trivia, Charity Bingo, Kids Night and Burger Night.
It’s not exactly a best-kept secret that Kowaliga Restaurant is a family dining spot with great food and a spectacular view. But, recently, Only In Your State recognized “seven Alabama restaurants that offer an incredible outdoor dining experience because of their wonderful waterfront views,” of which Kowaliga Restaurant was listed as Number 1.
Rising out of the hilltop, SpringHouse treats diners to a local cuisine served in rustic, casual elegance. As guests enter and pass the hearth, they will notice rustic stone, rough-hewn beams, perhaps some hand-forged ironwork from Ben Russell himself, and a magnificent open kitchen with a wood-fired oven.
Chimney Rock has been a popular hangout spot on Lake Martin for generations. Jumping off this graffiti-covered rock has become one of the most exciting things to do on Lake Martin. On a hot summer day, you can find nearly a hundred boats at the rock. There are even food boats – like food trucks… but on the water. So, even if you’re not brave enough to jump off the 40-foot rock, this is still a must-visit site.
The Piedmont Plateau Birding Trail in East Central Alabama has 40 sites, from Alabama’s highest mountain to the shores of Lake Martin, the state’s first Treasured Alabama Lake. The bird habitat found here is as varied as the scenery. From a paved walking trail in the middle of a city park to an adventurous float down a scenic river, you’ll find an activity that fits your interest.
